Our Brand

After browsing our website, or observing our logo on any of our marketing materials, you will have noticed the elephant. The elephant represents our brand in more ways than one. You may have already read a little bit about why the elephant on our site, but I thought it was time to elaborate a little more on why the elephant resonates with me so much.

The Elephant’s Significance

Community

When I thought about what I wanted my brand to represent and how I could tie it into my philosophy for work, I instantly thought of the word community. I have lived in Nanaimo my entire life and truly appreciate the people and the lifestyle which is why I’ve never had any desire to leave! My family still resides in Nanaimo and on Gabriola Island as well which is similar to the lifestyle of an elephant and their drive to stay together. They are all individuals and have their own personalities but they all maintain a strong bind to their family and community. Those bonds are very important in personal and work life. I like to maintain client relationships, even after transactions are completed. A real estate sale or purchase is a huge transaction, and I appreciate the opportunity to assist those in my community with their needs.

Perseverance

The female elephant leads her herd for hundreds of miles in search of water. There are no landmarks or signs that point her in the right direction, she just instinctually knows where it is. Her herd follows her trustingly, knowing that she will lead them to the right place. This example of trust and perseverance really resonates with me. In a diverse and changing industry such as real estate, one must be able to adapt and to persevere during hard times, and during slow times as well. Markets change and as a realtor, it is my duty to persevere and get the results I need for my clients. I am constantly learning and adapting to changes that arise often.

Overcoming Obstacles

Ganesha, the Lord of success and remover of obstacles

You may recognize Ganesha – the Lord of success and remover of obstacles. He is also known as the god of education and wisdom. He is represented as a man with an elephant head, which combines the earthly existence of humans as well as the spirituality and soul of the elephant.

Ganesha really stood out to me for more than one reason. The removal of obstacles is what I strive for in my business dealings. I want to ensure my clients are taken care of, and that I am able to answer all of their questions to the best of my ability. There are many obstacles that can arise in real estate, and I do my best to overcome them.

Conclusion

I am very lucky to have created my own business and branding that reflects my personal values. My office has many portraits and objects featuring the elephant so I am reminded daily of my promise to strive for excellence, while being mindful of my core values.
